well, let’s say I wanna make cosplay signs. does anybody ACTUALLY want one from me? if so, which costume should I wear?
yeah, I can play a few tunes from anime, vocaloid, and video games - most of them simplified, though. since I’m not a pro and I’m lazy I suck. let’s say… Aerith’s Theme on violin, Just Be Friends and From Y to Y on piano, that song Henrietta always play on the 1st season of Gunslinger Girl on violin, and many more…
well, in fact, that’s how my piano teacher made me interested to learn piano - learn videogame/anime/vocaloid music. I fail at classical methodology - the only thing that wants me to memorize those chords and read those DREADFUL notes. I memorize songs so fast that before I can actually read them, I already remembered which keys to play. same goes with violin. at least my violin teacher managed to teach me using Suzuki’s method, but then I have to give it up during high school due to my carpal tunnel syndrome, and my doctor’s haven’t put a green light for me to play violin again. Piano is also for my hand strength therapy - thanks to piano and chiropractic, my carpal tunnel syndrome never goes to severe level (or shall I say, the surgery table level)
well anyways, the reason why I never post videos or record my own playing is that, I always have jitters when I get myself recorded - I will mess up and then it goes to the level where I was like, dafuq what I’m playing?
so for now, if you guys wanna hear me play, well you have to come around to my house or any place that has a piano lying around and I’ll play a few tunes for ya… I’ll be glad to do so anytime (except when my CTS is nagging)

It’s only a matter of time.

Laserdisc - Video Formats Part 2 - Cinemassacre.com (by JamesNintendoNerd)
anyone else used to have laserdisc player?
I remember my dad has one or two back when I was in kindergarten. there was this laserdisc rental store near our house, and we will go there together Saturday or Sunday nights and rent a film. I remember the place also sell stickers, and each time we rent a film my dad let me choose one pack of sticker to put on my sticker collection book (yeah, I used to like stickers a lot back then - I mean, which kid aren’t crazy about sticker collecting back when they were young???)
I don’t exactly remember what kind of movies my dad rent… but he always pick at least one children movies for me. I don’t really remember watching them either, but yes, I remember the huge ass disc and when I stumbled upon AVGN’s video, I was like, HOLY CRAP. IT IS HUGE.
I don’t think we have the laserdisc player for long - well, maybe my dad bought the thing way before I was born (since I was born in 1991 and the thing came out during the 70s, I think?). soon, the thing was replaced by VCDs, and then DVDs, and now I’m sitting in my home theater with a PS3, xbox 360, my dad’s multimedia PC, his blu-ray player and the killer audio set with top-of-the-market speakers, and a 65-inch HDTV.
…and suddenly, I felt so old…and a little sad.
back when we had the laserdisc, I remember having a decent sized TV, no killer audio set or high-tech multimedia system in a pint-sized house. those were the happiest times, I think. back then there were issues with my family of course but I was a very young kid, and I remember going to the laserdisc rental store was one of the things I look forward to every weekend - getting new movies to watch and a new pack of stickers. yeah, we always rent because back then we can’t even afford to buy. and now, me and dad have separate movie collections - all blu-rays - not to mention my videogame collections too.
it’s kinda sad when I realize how expensive it gets to make yourself happy as you get older - back then I was so happy when my dad bought me a new pack of sticker - each only cost like, I dunno, Rp. 5000? (according to today’s rates, that’s not even a US dollar…) and now I collect video games that cost me at least $50 each… (not to mention my other collections too)
well anyways, laser discs was part of my bestest childhood memory. :’)
